Dexter, is the premier manufacturer and distributor of axles and trailer parts and accessories serving the trailer, RV, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets. We have a great opportunity for a Production Superintendent at our manufacturing facility located in Fremont, Indiana.
We are seeking a strong and experienced Production Superintendent with a history of success providing leadership to manufacturing operations. This person will be a good communicator, able to build relationships and support from all areas within the production facility to drive productivity and success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and lead the Production Supervisors
- Oversee every aspect of plant production, equipment and tools, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently, and that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate and implement activities related to the company’s quality, safety, and production standards, and you are accountable for the financial performance of the facility.
- Participate in plant safety, health and environmental programs and ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in the development and deployment of the Dexter Operating System (DOS)
- Support the systems to track, measure and report Key Process Indicators (KPI’s), leading the regular meetings and facilitating the detection of anomalies, to find out the underlying causes and resolving issues to prevent repetition
- Manage production schedules to achieve 100% customer satisfaction
- Maintain labor performance objectives
- Ensure quality procedures are followed and achieve 100% on time delivery
- Perform other tasks, duties or special projects as needed
You will be overseeing production supervisors (two shift operations) directly. You will need to be familiar with interviewing, hiring, and training direct reports; allocating, and guiding work; evaluating performance annually; rewarding and disciplining employees; handling complaints and solving problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or a comparable discipline is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Lean and continuous improvement experience is required
A background in demonstrated leadership in a manufacturing environment
- Progressive experience in industrial manufacturing, preference to history of managing a site facility
- MUST have experience in all phases of manufacturing operations and production scheduling, including maintaining and controlling direct and indirect labor budgets
- A collaborative leader and change agent
- Computer skills are essential
