Senior Accountant
Overview
Dexter, the premier supplier and manufacturer of axles, doors, venting products and related components in the utility trailer, boat trailer, recreational vehicle, heavy duty and manufactured housing markets, has an opportunity for a Senior Accountant at our company distribution center in Springfield, Missouri.

Position Summary
Applies principles of accounting, researches and analyzes accounting data in order to provide financial information to management in the areas of general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Performs general accounting functions, including operation of the general ledger system, journal entries, and month-end close.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for business unit.
- Performs balance sheet account reconciliations and associated journal entries.
- Support ad hoc and routine daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting and analysis for business unit and corporate.
- Provide cost analysis for business unit based on actual data.
- Assists in development of financial policies.
- Assists plants in resolving plant accounting issues.
- Maintains financial security by following internal controls. Performs other tasks or duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job will supervise one temporary resource in processing AP/AR.
Requirements
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting or comparable discipline and 3-5 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be highly analytical with proven ability to analyze and solve problems. Must be highly organized, results driven, technically capable, effective written and verbal communicator, service oriented, and a self-starter. Must be able to perform work to a high level of quality standards while meeting established deadlines.
