Demand Planner
Overview
Dexter, a premier manufacturer and distributor of axles, suspension, brakes, doors, venting products, trailer parts and accessories, and towing components serving the commercial trailer, RV, heavy-duty, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets, has an opportunity for a Demand Planner. This is a remote position.

Position Summary
This position is to ensure Dexter Distribution Group (DDG) has the appropriate inventory levels to serve customers and optimize inventory investment. More specifically, this position will be responsible for activities including but not limited to the following:
A.) Review Metrics and take appropriate action to ensure we have enough inventory to serve customers
- Investigate stock out report. Take action to ensure the appropriate min, max and safety stock are established at each item / location combination.
- Utilize overstock and obsolete inventory reports to collaborate with sales and operations.
- Conduct monthly review of lead time and ensure Electronic Replenishment Program (ERP) system is updated with accurate lead time data points for each Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) location combination.
- Support Director of Supply Chain Analytics and Forecasting with any reporting requests.
- Execute and measure performance vs. plan to drive timely and informed decision making.
B.) Establish appropriate stocking levels for branches and distribution centers
- Create and implement strategies to back-haul, redistribute, return, and sell any excess and obsolete items.
- Review stocking parameters and make any necessary changes to lead time, Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Min, Max, and safety stock to ensure optimal levels are being maintained.
- Seek continuous improvement to ensure best practices in inventory management are being followed at DDG
- Communicate inventory stocking changes, or strategies with multiple stakeholders including Regional Buying team, branches, and distribution center buyers.
- Integrate any stocking changes into an auto-load template and work with Information Technology (IT) team to ensure timely update of min and max in ERP system.

Knowledge and experience requirements include:
- 2 - 4 years of demand planning experience in a distribution environment
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication
- Proficient English language skills required including reading, writing and speaking .
- Best Practices for Inventory Management in a distribution environment
- Ability to organize work and manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines
- Power BI experience preferred
- Drive for continuous improvement
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel required, advanced preferred
- Proven ability to analyze detailed data and make business critical decisions and recommendations
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Support the business through season and annual financial planning function
Education requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent experience required.
Travel frequency is 5% of the time. The work environment is primarily an office setting; manufacturing or distribution center environment during visits.
