Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer/Project Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager at Rockwell American’s Leaf Spring Manufacturing plant in Seagoville, TX. The Manufacturing Engineer will oversee plant projects as well as develop tools, implement designs, and integrate machinery or equipment to ensure effective manufacturing processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
- Inspects products and processes for flaws and identifies areas of improvement.
- Partners with Maintenance department to monitor and maintain plant equipment and machinery to ensure that it's running as it should be.
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
- Determines project specifications by studying design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
- Determines project schedules by studying project plans and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
- Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions.
- Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and recommends actions.
- Prepares plant project cost estimates and submits for approval.
- Assists with the installation of equipment at the manufacturing plants.
- Must perform other duties as required.
- Must wear required PPEs such as steel toe shoes, gloves, earplugs and safety glasses.
- Ensures conformance to the Plant’s Site Safety Plan.
Requirements
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience in Project Management and process improvement in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Solidworks 3D design software.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and extended hours as necessary to support production needs.
- Experience with ISO-9000 and PPAP process and documentation requirements.
- Must have technical understanding
- Must be able to understand manufacturing methods and procedures.
