Position Summary
The Distribution Specialist is responsible for
- Assign and monitor shuttle drivers throughout routes
- Monitory traffic flow and make logistical coverage decisions as needed
- Oversee routing performance and efficiency
- Communicate to shuttle drivers using various channels of communication about route changes
- Response to all inquiries regarding shuttle related inner-campus material movement
- Respond to and coordinate emergency response
- Ensure that all tasks comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, environmental policies, and/or government regulations
- Provide ongoing support to Distribution Manager and other assignments as needed
- Provide campus support for materials going to and from outside processing warehouses
- Performs other tasks or duties as assigned
Requirements
Associate's degree in Business or related discipline and 6 years supervisory/warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven ability to identify trends, develop strategies, and implement solutions to drive long term results
- Experience using an ERP system
- Prior experience in material flow in a manufacturing environment across multiple buildings is preferred
- Strong understanding of CDL requirements and limitations
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, build and own a project
- Extremely detail-oriented and spectacular organization skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Excellent written and oral communication with interpersonal skills
- Exude a professional and energetic demeanor while performing effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work any shift
