Engineering / CAD Designer

Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the CAD Designer is to handle day to day CAD and Solid Modeling work including:
- Reviewing work orders and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of designs
- Calculating figures to convert design dimensions to modify dimensions specified for subsequent production processes
- Maintaining and updating files relating to specified design project database library
- Retrieving design information from project database libraries
- Conferring with engineering and design staff to determine design modifications, making changes using CAD and saving information in project database libraries
- Entering specified information into CAD systems and peripheral equipment to produce graphic representation (hard copy) of design for review and approval by engineering and design staff
- Create, update and maintain bills of materials in ERP system
- Other tasks or duties as assigned
Requirements
Position requires an Associates’ Degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering Technology or a comparable discipline and 2 years of experience in performing same or similar job function; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Position requirements include proficiency in Solid Modeling/CAD (such as Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and/or SolidWorks), engineering changes, and design for manufacture and assembly experience. Familiarity with manufacturing processes including casting, stamping, machining, and forging preferred. Must be detail oriented, mechanically inclined, and a team player.
