Unlike time-based controllers which ramp up to full power on a pre-set time scale, the inertia-activated Predator DX2 matches the driver's desired braking effort to actual brake output. Here's how it works...
- A patented pendulum sensor in the controller reacts instantly to any change in tow vehicle deceleration.
- When this change is detected and the brake pedal or manual slide is activated, the controller applies the trailer brakes at the same rate as the tow vehicle brakes.
- The result is smooth, proportional braking between the trailer and tow vehicle.
|
 | Because it's inerti-activated, the Predator DX2 can provide gradual power output which prevents over-braking and minimizes brake wear. When you need emergency braking for that panic situation, the Predator DX2 delivers full braking power with no delay. Some time-based controllers can take up to 3-4 seconds to reach maximum output. |
